On Tuesday, McDonald’s announced that its famous Happy Meal would be trimming down to keep up with the times and answer an attack by health advocates who say that these meals are making kids fat.

The new version of the happy meal will offer less french fries than before, a smaller portion and include apple slices. The choice of beverage will include fat free chocolate milk or 1 percent milk in addition to soda. Previously, you could choose low-fat chocolate milk (2 percent) or whole milk.

This is a concept that I learned from one of my mentors Geoff Thompson and was reminded of recently by Thomas Plummer. Its a concept that taught me (and reminded me) that the only way to grow was to recognize when I was staying in my comfort zone, regardless of the tivities I was doing.

For example if I told you that tomorrow you were going to give a presentation to a thousand people, and then do some full contt sparring, a lot of you would recognize how difficult this was.

I woke up this morning with two nicely sized “girls” and now I was getting ready to go for what feels like my third mastectomy day. Did you ever see that movie “Ground Hog Day”? Where the newscaster wakes up every day and it is the same day over and over again. That is what I felt like, every time I get used to the “girls” they get taken away again. Luckily for me when the first reconstruction failed not all the tissue died so I still would have some chest just not the overly abundant chest that I was used to.

Daily soda consumption has dropped twice as much with black students. Overall consumption of soda in the states with bans has dropped by an average of .09 servings of soda each day. However, among black students is dropped .19 servings per day.

Soda is widely considered to be a contributor to the increase in obesity because it has been associated with excess energy intake and weight gain wrote the studys authors.

I had my first appointment with a new plastic surgeon and I must admit I was really uncomfortable. I had heard that this doctor make incredible breast and it was a little weird to hear that is what he is known for. I went to the appointment with my husband because by now I had about 8 surgeries between the initial mastectomies and reconstruction and all the repairs that followed. I have also just recently had to have my reconstruction reworked and implants put in.

I tried to be patient with my first surgeon and I think I gave him more than enough tries to get it right and I had enough.
