In our fifty nifty states, some are shining above others in the area of sustainability and organic food production.

When a food is titled , that means that it was produced using methods that avoided synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers. The food does not contain genetically modified organisms and it was not involved in radiation, industrial solvents, or chemical food additives while being processed.

It is always funny when common beliefs are taken one step further into the really weird.

I was having a conversation the other day, and we were talking about some common health issues that come up in summer and how to solve them. Someone mentioned this little tip: if you see a jelly fish in the ocean, you should pee because that will scare it away, and it won’t bite.

During my visit to the USOC in Lake Plid a few years ago I was privileged to watch training sessions and competitions in two sports I hadnt really paid much attention to in the past ski jumping and aerial freestyle skiing.

The aerial freestyle team were tually jumping into an aerated pool the cohes/researchers have found that the number of prtice jumps an athlete could make eh session, was tually only  limited by how many landings the athletes body could take. Want some MORE?

Gluten is in the news again. Recent reports are showing that women who are undiagnosed or untreated for may hit early.

Celiac disease affects the immune system. For those who suffer from the disease, when the protein gluten is digested, it causes damage to the small intestine and prevents nutrient absorption. Gluten is found in a whole host of foods, like those containing wheat, barley, and rye.

WEDNESDAY, June 8 (HealthDay News) — Dieters are more likely than non-dieters to be misled by food names, a new study says.

For example, dieters rated food items with names such as “salad” as being healthier than identical products with names such as “pasta,” while non-dieters made no such distinctions.

Dieters also believed that candy labeled “fruit chew” was healthier than the same candy when it was labeled “candy chew,” and ate more of the candy when it was called fruit chews, said the University of South Carolina researchers.

“The fact that people’s perceptions of healthfulness vary with the name of the food item isn’t surprising.
