The term Mediterranean Diet refers to foods that have been traditionally associated with people that live near the Mediterranean Sea.

Although there are several different countries located around the Mediterranean, research has shown that the traditional diet contains many foods that may lead to a healthier lifestyle.

The Mediterranean diet incorporates the fundamental concepts to healthy eating.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the Mediterranean diet is a heart healthy option that can improve the quality of life for many people.

Food consumed in this part of the world are made up of vegetables, grains, seafood, nuts and olive oil; people in this region also typically eat less red meat, dairy, sugar and refined flour.

Benefits

A diet rich in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans and seafood can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease, by reducing LDL cholesterol.

The Mediterranean diet is high in antioxidants, which naturally combat LDL cholesterol, which can lead to clogged arteries and heart disease.

Scientific Research

The Mayo Clinic conducted a study that analyzed over 1.5 million people that were following the Mediterranean diet meal plan.

“I couldn’t workout out last week; I was on a business trip. The hotel didn’t have a gym!” I’ve heard it a thousand times from my clients and friends—an excuse to get off track and break the exercise habit.

I consider the single, best exercise you can do. They work your muscles from head to toe. If they are tough for you, you can modify them by either elevating your hands on a bed, dresser, step, etc. or do the push-up on your knees.

Wall sits are a great leg workout. Always make sure your knees are behind your toes to avoid injury to the knees. Challenge y

Well its here Memorial Day Weekend. The official start of Summer. The great unveiling when the shirts come off, the swimsuits go on and the entire World knows extly how good or bad your dieting and exercising was for the last 3-4 months.

My colleague Jason Ferruggia has called this weekend Judgment Day!

The turning point in my career came when I realized that everything I needed to know about the fitness profession, training people and running a business was already out there. All I had to do was read it or listen to it. I then started to invest in myself and Ive never stopped.

I decided in 1995 that I would take one training sessions worth of income eh week and invest it in my own education. At that time I picked up 2 books per week and committed myself to reading them. If there was a seminar or educational event I attended that.
